Introduction & Overview
Welcome to The RPE Calculator ("we", "our", "us", or "the Site"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we operate. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data.
The short version: we built this tool to help athletes train smarter — not to collect your personal data. All calculations happen entirely in your browser. We don't require accounts, we don't store your training data, and we don't sell your information to anyone.
By accessing or using therpecalculator.com, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of it, please discontinue use of the Site.

Information We Collect
We collect two categories of information: information you actively provide, and information automatically collected during your visit.
Information You Provide
The RPE Calculator does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use any of its features. All calculator inputs (weight, reps, RPE values) are processed entirely client-side in your browser and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
If you contact us via email or a contact form, we may receive your name and email address solely to respond to your inquiry. This information is not added to any marketing list and is not shared with third parties.
Information Automatically Collected
When you visit the Site, standard web server and analytics tools may automatically collect:
- ›IP address (anonymized before storage)
- ›Browser type, version, and language
- ›Operating system and device type
- ›Referring website or source
- ›Pages visited, time spent, and navigation patterns
- ›Screen resolution and viewport size
This data is aggregated and anonymized. It is used solely to understand how the Site is used so we can improve it. It is never linked to individual users and never shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use a minimal set of cookies and tracking technologies. A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser that helps websites remember information about your visit.
Types of Cookies We Use
Functional Cookies
Used to remember your unit preference (kg/lbs) so you don't have to set it on every visit. These are session-based and contain no personal information.
Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics)
Used to collect anonymized data about how visitors interact with the Site — page views, session duration, device type. IP addresses are anonymized before any data is stored.
How to Opt Out of Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
- ›Use your browser's settings to block or delete cookies
- ›Use incognito/private browsing mode to prevent cookie storage
- ›Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (available at tools.google.com)
- ›Use a browser extension like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger
Note: disabling functional cookies may affect the unit preference feature, but will not impact your ability to use the calculator.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our Site. Google Analytics collects data such as how users find the site, which pages they visit, how long they stay, and what type of device and browser they use.
We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled, which means your full IP address is never stored. The data Google Analytics collects is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy, which you can review at policies.google.com/privacy.
We use this data exclusively to improve the Site's content, performance, and user experience. We do not use Google Analytics data for advertising or remarketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
The Site may use third-party services to deliver certain functionality. Each of these services has its own privacy policy and data handling practices. Currently we use:
Google Analytics
Anonymized usage analytics to improve the Site
Google Fonts
Web font delivery (Inter, Barlow Condensed) — fonts are loaded from Google's CDN
Vercel
Website hosting, edge CDN, and deployment infrastructure
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their policies if you have concerns.
Data Retention & Security
Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to retain or delete. Anonymous analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for a maximum of 26 months before automatic deletion.
For any personal information you provide through contact forms or email:
- ›We retain it only for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry
- ›We do not add it to any database or marketing list
- ›You may request deletion at any time by contacting us
The Site is served over HTTPS, ensuring all data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit. We implement appropriate technical measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure of data.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. Since we collect minimal personal data, these rights are largely straightforward to exercise:
Right to Access

Right to Deletion
Request deletion of any personal data we hold
Right to Correction
Request correction of inaccurate personal data
Right to Object

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us through the details on our Contact page. We will respond to all verified requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
The RPE Calculator is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Strength training calculator tools are intended for use by individuals who are old enough to engage in resistance training under appropriate supervision.
If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete that information from our records as promptly as possible.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users prominently on the Site.
